I got this done back in October by Scott Forbes at Oceanic Art in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He’s such a fantastic artist, and a pleasure to talk to. The day I got it done was a bit of a rough day for the shop, but, even so, he was friendly and the atmosphere stayed welcoming… I was actually even more impressed by the team there, they were great even though they were dealing with bullshit.
I got the tattoo because diving’s been a part of life since I can remember. My dad used to be a wreck diver, and still goes diving all the time. I started a couple years ago and now we go together all the time. The old school helmets just look awesome, and the jewels are there because dad’s always trying to figure out where sunken treasure might be.
